Why did you do that to Ivy May?

Some readers are very angry with me about Ivy May’s fate. But I knew from the start that she and Kitty would not survive the book. During any period of change there are victims. Some are knowing victims, like Kitty, and some are innocent, like Ivy May. Her death hurts more than Kitty’s because she had no say in her circumstances. I admit it was very hard to write those two lines of hers, but I wouldn’t change them. If nothing remains of my writing I would save those two lines.
